Chaucer, Geoffrey. Canterbury Tales Rendered into Modern English: De Luxe Edition. Garden City Publishing Company, Inc. 1934 Cloth hardcover with paper labels. Good, sl wear and sl bumping of corners. List of characters written in pencil in back. Octavo 607 pp Nicolson, J.U. (Translator into modern English and poetic versification); Gerould, Gordon Hall (Introduction) Kent, Rockwell (illustrator). "The Canterbury Tales is a collection of stories written by Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century (two of them in prose, the rest in verse). The tales, some of which are originals and others not, are contained inside a frame tale and told by a collection of pilgrims on a pilgrimage from Southwark to Canterbury to visit the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral. The Canterbury Tales are written in Middle English. Although the tales are considered to be his magnum opus, some believe the structure of the tales is indebted to the works of The Decameron, which Chaucer is said to have read on an earlier visit to Italy."

Clark, David R. and George P. Mayhew, Michael J. Sidnell. Druid Craft. The Writing of The Shadowy Waters. University of Mass Press. 0870230689 / 9780870230684 1971 Hardcover in DJ. Good Good Octavo 349 pp "William Butler Yeats conceived The Shadowy Waters around 1883 when he was in his late teens some eighteen years before it was first published as a dramatic poem in 1900. It was not produced as a play until 1904. In this volume the editors bring together prepublication drafts of the unique play - until now dispersed an d uncorrelated - which show the revisions Yeats made during those twenty some years. Even in this formative period when developing as poet and playwright, Yeats's interest in mythology, and his attempt to penetrate its meaning and to associate mythology and vision is evident."
